Cryotherapy
Brandon Veterinary Clinic is pleased to offer cryotherapy for our patients. This procedure has been proven very effective for certain skin cancers or lesions, and has been available for many years. Cryotherapy uses intense cold produced by nitrous oxide gas or liquid nitrogen, which is applied to diseased or abnormal skin by an instrument known as a cryoprobe.
The extreme cold not only destroys the diseased area, it also numbs the nerves making the process less painful. After the procedure, the diseased skin dies and flakes off, and healthy scar tissue is grown. The compassionate doctors at Brandon Veterinary Clinic have many years of successful experience with cryotherapy, and will bring this safe procedure to your pet if needed.
